Rima Mutasim Abdelgadir is a skilled Solicitor and accredited Level 3 Immigration Adviser with extensive experience in human rights and immigration law. She holds an LLM in Human
Rights, Conflicts, and Justice from SOAS University of London and an LLB (Hons) in Law and Criminology from Lancaster University.
Rima has a strong track record in challenging Home Office decisions through Judicial Review proceedings in the Upper Tribunal and Administrative Court, addressing issues such as procedural impropriety, abuse of power, and delays in application processing. She specialises in asylum claims, applications outside the rules, appeals at the First and Upper Tribunal, and matters relating to deportation, removal, and detention. She is also experienced across all areas of immigration law, including naturalisation, spouse visas, visit visas, and other applications under the Immigration Rules.
Before joining the legal profession, Rima conducted research for the International Human Rights Clinic at SOAS and produced a report for the European Parliament on the complicity of several EU member states in violations of international law in the context of targeted drone killings. She has also contributed to governance and rule of law projects with the United Nations Development Programme in Sudan.
