Taras obtained a law degree from a leading London University, followed by the Legal Practice Course (LPC) and a Master’s Degree in Law, Business & Management from the University of Law in London. He completed a period of recognised training in the city law firm before qualifying as a solicitor of England and Wales.
Taras holds a role as the Firm’s Compliance Officer for Legal Practice and Compliance Officer for Finance and Administration, with overall responsibility for ensuring the firm’s compliance with SRA regulatory requirements, professional standards, and financial management obligations.
In this role, he oversees the firm’s risk management and compliance framework, including supervision of anti-money laundering procedures, file management and supervision, complaints handling, conflict checks, regulatory reporting obligations, data protection compliance, and internal policy implementation.
Taras is also responsible for monitoring the firm’s financial compliance systems, ensuring adherence to the SRA Accounts Rules, maintaining proper accounting controls and audit procedures, and overseeing risk mitigation processes across the practice.
He works closely with fee earners and support staff to promote a strong culture of professionalism, ethical practice, regulatory compliance, and high standards of client care throughout the firm.
He specialises in Private Client law and Criminal Defence. Taras can help you prepare a Will, a lasting Power of Attorney (Health and Financial decisions), Probate matters, Trust and Succession Planning. He can represent you in criminal proceedings at Magistrates’ and Coroner’s Court. Taras also has extensive experience advising business tenants on the negotiation and drafting of commercial leases, delivering commercially practical solutions and ensuring robust protection of his clients’ interests. He is a Managing Partner at Wellingtons Solicitors and is driven by a passion for justice and a commitment to excellence.
He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the table, having successfully represented clients in a wide range of complex cases in Private client and criminal defence matters including driving offences, ABH, AGBH and UK Border Force and HMRC seizures.
