Who we help
For companies engaging consultants, freelancers and other independent service providers.
What the service can include
- Scope, deliverables, milestones and payment terms
- Confidentiality, data handling and ownership of work
- Liability, insurance, termination and handover
- Review of working arrangements and issues requiring employment or tax advice
The scope is agreed for your matter. It depends on the documents, the issues and what you ask us to do.
How the work usually progresses
Understand the engagement
We establish the services, how work will be organised and who will perform it.
Address the risks
We review status questions, intellectual property, information handling and responsibility for delivery.
Agree the terms
We prepare or negotiate the agreement and identify any specialist advice needed.
What to prepare
- Description of services and deliverables
- Proposed working arrangements and duration
- Payment and invoicing terms
- Details of equipment, substitution and other clients
Fees and the first consultation
The initial consultation is £325 + VAT. Further work is separately scoped and priced. We will explain the charging basis and any expected third-party costs before you instruct us.
Questions about self-employed contractor agreements
Does calling someone self-employed settle their status?
No. The terms and actual working relationship matter. We can flag employment status questions and discuss when specialist tax advice is needed.
Who will own work created by a contractor?
Do not assume ownership automatically transfers. We review the intended intellectual property arrangements and draft the appropriate terms for the engagement.
